2007 Digital ID World Conference Dates Announced #
All-star analyst advisory board formed to provide expert input on conference focus FRAMINGHAM, MA, November 14, 2006 - Digital ID World, the definitive gathering place for the identity industry, today announced that the 6th Annual Conference is scheduled to take place September 24-26, 2007, at the San Francisco Hilton, San Francisco, CA. It was also announced that for the first time in the 6 year history of the event, an analyst advisory board has been formed to provide expert input on conference content. The board includes all of the top analyst groups in the digital identity space – The 451 Group, Burton Group, Forrester, IDC and Enterprise Strategy Group. The theme for this year’s conference is “Digital ID World 2007: Real World Deployments. Real World Perspectives.” “Digital ID World was founded as the only independent venue in which the entire identity community can gather,” said Phil Becker, Editor in Chief and Conference Chair of Digital ID World. “The addition of our analyst advisory board will bring another important and independent voice to the table as we make determinations on content focus for the show.” Steve Steinke, Senior Analyst, Networks, at The 451 Group covers network management, identity management and network security. Before joining the 451 analyst team, Steve spent 10 years as a member of the senior editorial staff at Network Magazine, including leading the publication as Editor in Chief for five years. He also worked as the creator and manager of the software evaluation department, which distributed a biweekly newsletter to over 500 reseller outlets. Mike Neuenschwander, Vice President and Research Director at Burton Group covers Identity management, federation, directory services, meta-directories, access management, privacy and regulatory compliance. Mike has 12 years of network industry experience as a writer, product designer, product manager, and industry analyst. Prior to his work at Burton Group, Mike initiated projects for NDS 8 eDirectory, Identity Manager, and ZENworks at Novell, Inc.; wrote user manuals; and helped design network administration products for Intel's LANDesk product line. Jonathan Penn is a Principal Analyst in Forrester's Security research group, focusing chiefly on identity management. He assists clients in the development of strategy, architecture, and the implementation of supporting technologies, as well as in the application of identity management to business processes and policies. Jonathan also specializes in information protection practices and helping financial firms develop strategies to combat online fraud and identity theft. Jonathan has been widely quoted in publications such as CSO Magazine, Information Security Magazine, The Financial Times, The Economist, and The New York Times, and has appeared on National Public Radio and CNBC. Sally Hudson is a research director within IDC's Security Products and Services group, focusing on identity and access management (IAM) products. She analyzes and forecasts market trends and provides expert insight and intelligence on the evolving security landscape. Additionally, Ms. Hudson produces numerous in-depth annual research studies, and works with both vendor and user clients to formulate and implement effective IT strategies. Prior to her work in the security field, Ms. Hudson was a member of IDC's Infrastructure Software Overview service. Jon Oltsik is a senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) as well as the founder of its Information Security service in 2003. Oltsik is now widely recognized as an expert in security management and technology and also focuses on identity and access management. Prior to joining ESG Jon was the founder and principal of Hype-Free Consulting. Mr. Oltsik previously served as VP of Marketing & Strategy at GiantLoop Network where he managed all external marketing activities and defined the company’s strategic vision. Jon was also a Senior Analyst at Forrester Research where he covered a wide range of infrastructure and IT topics. In this role, he was frequently quoted in business journals including the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and the New York Times and was also the recipient of a prestigious "best research" award for his breakthrough report "The Internet Computing Voyage."
